About New Horizons
New Horizons is an evidence-based Substance Abuse Prevention program that addresses social issues among teens and young adults that have the potential to interfere with personal achievement. The 16-session life skills curriculum aims to reduce individual risk of drug use, school delinquency, and unhealthy anger outbursts by encouraging the use of effective and lasting self-management and interpersonal skills.

New Horizons strives to assist young people in the development of constructive decision-making strategies by offering a safe and supportive environment to increase positive and responsible behavior at school and in the community.

This voluntary in-school program is currently being offered to middle and high-school-aged young people across Leon, Madison, and Wakulla counties. Students at participating schools have the opportunity to work with a Health and Wellness Specialist on an individual or group level to develop the skills necessary to achieve their personal success.
