  • Safety is our top priority. We have secure campus entry points, regular emergency drills, and on-site staff trained in emergency response. There are security cameras throughout the exterior and interior of the campus. In addition, the school is staffed with two School Resource Deputies and a number of safety monitors. We also use a visitor management system to ensure that all guests are signed in and monitored.

    New for 2026

Godby is one of the first schools in the nation to have security drones stationed within the campus buildings. This is a pilot program paid for by the Florida Department of Education. The drones will only be deployed if an active shooter is on campus. The drone program works alongside existing technology in the district, including ZeroEyes, an AI-powered system that detects weapons on campus.

  • In addition to the standard programs for Exceptional Student Education (ESE), English Language Learners (ELL/ESOL) and five guidance counselors, Godby also benefits from having on site: A social worker, a counselor for New Horizons and a representative from FAMU TRIO program.

    Mental Health Support

The School District of Leon County recognizes that Mental Health encompasses social, emotional, and behavioral health and the ability to cope with life’s challenges. LCS’s mental health initiatives consist of a continuum of supports for student mental health wellness inclusive of school-based mental health service providers and community-based mental health professionals. Please visit the LCS Mental Health webpage to explore an assortment of supports for students and families to ensure success. LCS Mental Health Site
